LINGFIELD CRICKET CLUB
JUNIOR CRICKET COACHING

By popular demand Lingfield Cricket Club is to repeat their indoor coaching programme for young players for the fourth consecutive year.

The courses will be conducted according to different age groups, in order that the most appropriate coaching may be given relevant to age and experience. They will take place on Saturday afternoons beginning in the January and continuing until the end of April. The price is £3.50 per week.

For the Under 9 age groups the NCYPE sports Hall at St Piers will be used. There will be two groups operating on alternative Saturdays. Young players will be divided according to age and experience so that beginners and existing players get the opportunity to develop.
Anyone aged 5 upwards will be welcome to join in. Beginners and players under 7 will start on 20th January, and the Under 8s and Under 9s who have already played some cricket will start on Saturday 27th. Sessions will run from 2.15 to 3.45pm. Both boys and girls are welcome and all equipment will be provided by the club. All courses will be run by England & Wales Cricket Board (ECB) qualified coaches and will incorporate a balanced structure of technical coaching and games.

The other age groups – Under 11s through to Under 15s will use the excellent facilities at the East Surrey Cricket Centre at Hazelwood School, near Hurst Green between 5.30 and 7.00 p.m. where they will have the use of 4 new indoor nets, complete with bowling machines and videoing facilities. These sessions will be start on 20th January for Under 15s and 27th January for Under 12s.
Again ECB qualified coaches will be in charge and when hard balls are involved suitable protective equipment will be made available to those who require it.

Lingfield Cricket club has one of the strongest and best organised junior cricket programmes in the area. They are the only club in the region to have been awarded the Clubmark accreditation by the ECB under the Sport England auspices.
