About me and my love of jewellery

Jewellery to me has always been a passion.

At the tender age of five I would sneak into my mother’s dressing room, and lovingly examine her jewels, necklaces, bangles and numerous other items of jewellery.

I even went so far as to "borrow" them and like a magpie sneak them off to my top draw. Fortunately my mother was a woman of understanding and always quietly retrieved her jewels!

Should I blame my sister?

I began making jewellery at the age of 8. My elder sister had bought some beads and I being the inquisitive sister watched her avidly as she strung them into a necklace.

My sister gave me a needle, thread and some spare beads and I hurried off to make my own necklace. I was hooked! I have not stopped since.

At school I would sell earrings, bracelets, take commissions and make what ever would make copies of high street fashions.

Beadwork and metalsmithing

For many years my passion was beadwork, but in my early 20s I discovered the fantastic joy of working in metal.

I took classes in silver work, jewellery design and production.

I bought every book I could lay my hands on and devoured the knowledge, eager to try new techniques and gain more skill and knowledge.

One never stops learning

I am still learning and I don’t think I every will ever stop. There is so much scope and diversity within jewellery making, always new ideas, new products and new ways of viewing what we wear.

Jewellery is fashion and taste is constantly changing and evolving, making it an exciting and stimulating field to work in.

Your interest and desire

But what of you the wearer? It is only through your satisfaction and pleasure at what you wear that jewellery is given attention.

It is your desire, which allows me to indulge in this wonderful art. And this is an important part of what I offer. Your complete satisfaction!
